POLE DANCE

A group of high-energy performers swing from handrails and poles on a New York subway train. They are part of a 21-man troupe called Waffle (We are Family for Life Entertainment). Comprised mostly of underprivileged teenagers, they preform to music in between train stops, and can earn about $100 a day.

THIS WEEK’S TV

The highlight of this week’s film was “Hunger Games”. I think it was the best adventure film. At the beginning, each district shall over up a male and female between the age of 12 and 18 at a public reaping. These tributes shall be then delivered to the custody of the capital. And then transferred to a public arena where they will fight to the death, until alone victor remain. It was very exciting.

I enjoyed the girl called Katniss because she was offered volunteer to save her sister who was selected for the Hunger Games. Beautiful stuff!

TV HIGHLIGHTS by - Eva Tarrés Comas

The highlight of this week’s TV was definitely the comedy-drama television series Glee Season 5. Glee is an American teen musical that airs on the Fox network in the United States. The boys and girls of different schools competed in a dance talent show and now it’s to see who the winner is. Was very exciting!
Channel 5’s the music talent show “La Voz” was also worth watching. In Monday’s episode, one of the girls of one of the team coaches wins and became the best voice of the TV programme. In the end she was presented with a medal.
Finally, something which also caught my eye was a story on Friday’s news. A poor man volunteer in a hospital who helped heals people. It was a good story.

ORAL PRESENTATION

MY LAST SUMMER

Hi! My name is Eva, I'm fourteen years old and today I’m going to talk about my last summer holidays.
First I'm going to talk about my holidays in Tarragona, next about the summer camp in Besalú and finally about the roller skating camp in Camprodon.

TARRAGONA

In July I went for 3 days to Tarragona with my parents and my cousin.

We made the trip by car. We stayed in a luxury, modern and big hotel in Portaventura Park for two nights. The first day in the morning my cousin and I went to the fun fairs, we had lunch in an expensive restaurant and in the afternoon we swam in the swimming pool of the hotel. The next day my parents, my cousin and I, spent the day in Portaventura Water Park. And finally, the last day, we stayed in Salou and we went to the beach. In the afternoon we returned to Banyoles city.

SUMMER CAMP “YOUNG LIFE”

In the month of August I went to a summer camp for 9 days, it was called “Young Life” in Besalú with my friend Lídia.

Every day in the morning we did a lot of games and sports, after lunch we did crafts and in the afternoon we did gymkhanas and we went to the swimming pool. One of the days we did kayak, another day paintball and team building too. On Tuesday we did a route to the “Mare de Déu del Mòn” and we stayed for a night there. On Saturday we caught the bus and we went to the water park called Aquadiver, when we arrived at the camp, after dinner we watched a film. Every night we sang, danced and did more games with friends but the last night was the most exciting because we had the special dinner and we made a party.

See in all I met a lot of new friends and together we had a great time.

CAMPRODON

I went for 5 days to a skating camp with Lídia and other girls where we had a great time, we went training, we did a lot of games, but above all I met new friends.

MY BEST FRIEND

Judith Teixidor Sala and I are friends. Judith lives far from me, in Cornellà del Terri. She lives in a big and modern house near the city center. We don't go to the same school but sometimes stayed to spend time together.

Judith is fourteen years old. She's medium tall and she's got very long and curly blonde hair. The good thing about him is that she's very funny, friendly, generous and always faithful with everyone; although she can also be very sensitive but never is intolerant.

Judith is happiest when she's chatting, joking and having a good time with their friends. She and I like very much play basketball and go swimming. And when I go train roller skating in Cornellà and we meet, we talk a lot. The last carnival we go together with our friends and we have a great time! Is a very big person.

ARE YOU IN FAVOUR OF HOME SCHOOLING OR AGAINST IT?

In my area, all of the people go to school except a few that studies at home. In my opinion, I'm in favour about the normal school because is good for several reasons. Firstly, there are people who meet with them and make relationships with others. Secondly, I think it's more exciting because you're in a group of friends. And finally, I like to go out with the people I meet there. I think it is a great life experience.
So all in all, I think the home schooling it's a bad form to educate the kids like ours but I don't disagree with the reasons of the people who do that because are their opinions.
So anyone can think what it can.
